Our Regional Women’s Committees are made up of women from many different components. We have a very open door and welcome anyone wanting to join us.

Victoria - The Public Service Alliance of Canada Victoria Regional Women’s Committee is sponsoring a candlelight vigil at Holland Park in Victoria on December 6th, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada. The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women is a day commemorated in Canada each December 6th, the anniversary of the 1989 École Polytechnique massacre, in which armed student Marc Lépine murdered fourteen women and injured ten others in the name of "fighting feminism".

The best line of the Trudeau government’s first day— widely reported and praised in the international media—was the new PM’s.  In response to a reporter’s question about why he’d chosen to create a gender-parity cabinet, he rather matter of factly observed “because it’s 2015”.  This ostensibly simple statement summed up a complexity of attitudes, beliefs and even world views in three words.

Canadian Research Institute for the Advancement of Women, CRIAW, would like to hold a focus group with PSAC sisters on Women and Changing Public Services   Thursday, June 25, 2015 from 5:30 - 7:00 pm PSAC Vancouver Regional Office 200 - 5238 Joyce Street, Vancouver BC (buzz 201)   If you can participate, please RSVP to kimballd@psac.com no later than June 23, 2015. This is an exciting time to be part of the Vote Child Care 2015 campaign! With the hard work of activists and advocates, parents, ECEs and community members from across Canada, we see child care and family policy becoming a key election issue.  Now we build momentum. The goal of the Vote Child Care 2015 campaign is to firmly make child care an election issue, and take action to ensure the next federal government delivers universal, quality child care that is affordable for all families in Canada.

A permanent reminder of the tragic events of Dec. 6, 1989, was unveiled Saturday at Holland Point Park, and the brother of one of the victims was there to see it, thanks to the efforts of PSAC's Victoria Regional Women's Committee.

Vancouver - The British Columbia Federation of Labour and the Public Service Alliance of Canada are sponsoring a candlelight vigil at Holland Park in Surrey on December 6th, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada.This year, December 6th marks the 25th anniversary of the murder of 14 women at the École Polytechnique in Montreal.

Victoria - The Public Service Alliance of Canada Victoria Regional Women’s Committee is sponsoring a candlelight vigil at Holland Park in Victoria on December 6th, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women in Canada.This year, December 6th marks the 25th anniversary of the murder of 14 women at the École Polytechnique in Montreal.  The Public Service Alliance of Canada Victoria Regional Women’s Committee and the City of Victoria will unveil a permanent memorial to their memory.
